Questions about in the kitchen vocabulary

What kitchen words should a beginner learn first?
Begin with the tools you touch at every meal: fork, spoon, knife, plate and cup. Then learn the big appliances such as fridge, oven and stove. These words cover most everyday talk about cooking and eating.
How do I remember the difference between pan, pot and kettle?
Think about shape and job: a pan is flat and wide for frying, a pot is deep for soup, and a kettle only boils water. Draw the three shapes side by side and name each one. Saying the word every time you cook locks it in.
Is fridge a formal English word?
Fridge is the short everyday form of refrigerator, and it is what native speakers actually say at home. Use refrigerator in formal writing and fridge everywhere else. Both words mean exactly the same machine.
